I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come through Dubai International & endured the horrible wait for a connecting flight in those hellishly uncomfortable chairs that make your legs go numb after 20 minutes which leads to severe pins & needles that makes you walk like a spaz. What I have been doing is getting smarter about my business travel. Casey Neistat released a little video about how he always flies with American Airlines & being such a frequent flyer, he is able to upgrade himself to a better traveling experience. I’ve chosen Emirates Airlines as my preferred airline. I’m either shooting in Dubai or going via Dubai to somewhere else. With the Frequent Flyer program, I’ve finally gotten to the point where I can book myself into an Emirates Lounge, get free food, free booze/drinks, wifi, couches, showers, etc. Took a while, but totally worth it! The other alternative is just flying Business/First class, in which case you automatically qualify for these perks. However this means you have to have a fat wallet to begin with. This all said, it does mean I have reached the end of my trip to USA. Those I’ve spoken to know that this trip had a mile long agenda. Something I’ve been wanting to do for many years now, I’m glad to have finally gotten it out of my system. Or put something into my system. Either way, it has been the perfect thing for me creatively, professionally & for my career. I will sit & put together a blog post which is a massive summary of my entire trip from Los Angeles to New York. It will be mostly pictures, because I was a little crazy about snapping just about everything. Till then, have a great week. 1 more flight & I’ll be back to my beloved Cape Town.
