I have always been a fan of stop motion. I still remember as a kid, one of my mothers clients had a small setup for doing stop motion animations. I must have been about 5 or 6 years old. Yet I still remember how this just boggled my mind. Since then, I’ve never made my own stop motion film (lack of time with everything else in my life) but I always keep an eye out for who does it well. Who can say they haven’t heard of Wallace & Gromit. Yep, these guys have been doing the most loved stop motion short films since I was a kid.
With the surge in CGI feature films, many things (much like film) have been discarded as “old methodigy”. Few guys keep the torch burning & they deserve all the support & praise for their work. Check out a new feature film called ParaNorman behind-the-scenes to get an idea of just how much work goes into the shortest clips of stop motion. I think if you didn’t know before, you’ll certainly appreciate the dedication & absolute genius behind putting something like this together.
