The Brief: Dreams Meet Reality
BMW Group Middle East came to us with a vision for their “BMW Individual” range—a limited-run collection of 7-Series and X7s designed specifically for the region. They wanted more than just clean car shots; they wanted to capture the feeling of these cars.
The agency’s brief was to place the vehicles in “surreal landscapes” that felt quintessentially Middle Eastern but had a dreamy, high-end commercial polish. The goal was to highlight the “Paired Perfection” of the 7-Series and X7 in a way that felt almost real, yet clearly elevated into the world of luxury advertising.

The Challenge: Math in the Studio
The tricky part? We needed to shoot these cars individually, but have them live together in the final “Group Hero” shots. If the angles or camera heights were off by even a fraction, the whole illusion would fall apart.
We spent two days in the studio, getting technical with calculated angles and measured camera placements. It was a bit like a high-stakes geometry lesson, but it was the only way to ensure every vehicle was perfectly proportional when we brought them together in post-production.

The Solution: Sculpting with Light
Since I knew our final backgrounds would be soft and ambient (think that perfect Arabian dusk), I wanted to treat the metal like liquid. We avoided harsh, “studio-like” lighting and instead focused on turning the bodywork into a smooth, reflective surface that looked like it was bathed in natural light.
To bridge the gap between the studio and the surreal, I dug into my personal stock library of landscapes and skies to build our worlds. Every car had a signature “BMW Individual” color—like the turquoise of Maldives Blue or the deep Mora Metallic (inspired by Arabian nights). We pulled these specific tones into the color grade of the environments, creating a seamless, “liquid” blend between the car and its dreamscape.

The Result: 100 Meters of Detail
The final images were massive—over 150 megapixels each. We needed that scale because one of the primary placements was a 100m billboard in Dubai. At that size, there’s nowhere for mistakes to hide, but the technical precision in the studio paid off.
The highlights:
- Global Recognition: The project was featured by BMW Global Press, highlighting how we helped tell the “BMW Individual” story to a worldwide audience.
- Massive Scale: Delivered flawless high-res masters for one of the largest OOH placements in the region.
- Beyond the Hero Shots: We also handled a full suite of digital campaign assets, including lifestyle imagery that brought a human element to this surreal world.
